After initially being told by doctors that he would not race this Round of the MX Nationals in Moree, Team 07 Axis Motorsports rider Michael Addison mounted his freshly tweaked CRF250R for Moto1, holeshot, and held on for a win with a 3 bike length buffer over Brendan Harrison.

This was Michaels first Moto win for the season and was long overdue. "The boys at Axis delivered on a promise to give me more power to get me off the line" said Michael. "This bike is now just as good - if not better than any factory bike I have ridden. Michael went on to finish equal 3rd overall for the day with Cody Mackie.
Dylan Peterson had a much more difficult day in the office. The gate drop on Moto 1 would lead him to stall his bike, which was later found to be bike malfunction - not rider error. Due to back-to-back formats a repair was not able to be carried out untill moto 3 - so moto 2 was ridden with a back-up bike.
Moto's 3 and 4 would see him finish 5th and 4th respectively seeing him drop to 4th in his championship. There are still 150 points on offer this w/e for him at Coolum so a Championship podium is a real possibility for Dylan. |

If there was ever a race that Team07 Axis Motorsports were to put in something extra to assert Authority it would be this weekend at MX Central.
Months prior to the 2010 MX Nationals kicked off Axis Motorsports spent countless hours testing Engine and Suspension combos and it used MX Central (formerly Barleigh Ranch) as its testing ground due to it being so close to the Shop.
Both Michael Addison and Dylan Peterson have put in countless laps at MX Central and are very familiar with how the track can change and where to find the fastest lines.
Dylan Peterson is going into the next round with his confidence at an all time high. He has his first Moto win for this season after dominating the under19's class by a whopping 11 seconds in Moto1 at Toowoomba.
Dylan sits equal third in the championship and still believes there are enough races and points on offer to challenge for the championship lead before the season is out.
Pro Lite rider Michael Addison has not had the smoothest of starts to his season - Literally. Poor starts have forced Michael to struggle through the pack to chase the leaders, and in doing so passes had to be quick and calculated. Unfortunately coming through the pack does not always go smoothly, costing Michael dearly in the championship.
Michael has taken a 'back to basics' approach and even calling on Lee Hogan to go over his starting routine.
'I know my speed is there. I spent the beginning of the year in US and was right where I needed to be to win' says Michael

Team Axis 07 rider Dylan Peterson Sits in 3rd Position leading into Round 3 of the Australian MX Nationals at Broadford this w/e.
Dylan holds a slim 11 point lead from his nearest rival and sits only 8 points from second place.
Although Dylan was satisfied to come away from Canberra with solid, consistent Championship points from each of the 4 moto
format he was very critical of his starts. "I know if i can get to the first corner in on of the top 3 positions, I can be battling for
the lead. Coming from behind is not where we want to be each round. I know the Team is working as hard as every to give
me the best equipment available, so I too will be working overtime to ensure my starts will be competitive this weekend at Broadford".

Last Saturday evening saw the opening round of the 2009 Monster Energy Super X Series at Aurora Stadium in Launceston.
The Seven Axis Motorsport crew arrived with riders Mike Addison ( Pro Open ) and Wade Thompson ( Pro Lites ) carrying their hopes for the 2009 series.
With the track in near perfect condition Thompson lined up for race 1 of the double header pro lite final. After a very mediocre start being 16th into the first corner Thomspon had his work cut out to make up ground in the 10 lap race. He made his way through to 11th before a mistake cost him dearly before slipping back to finish in 19th. Race 2 was a non event for Thompson as he came together with fellow SA rider Ricky Girdwood in the first corner. Thompson finished round 1 in 20th overall.
"It wasnt my best performance by all means but i am determined to put head down and focus on Geelong next weekend and get back up in the top 8 where I know I belong" said Thompson.
The Pro Opens was a much more positive affair for Pro Open rider Mike Addison. Michael came away inside the top 10 by the end of the nights racing. In Race 1 he began mid pack but quickly made his way up to 8th which he held onto until Reed passed him at the halfway mark. Addison continued to ride strongly and held his own finishing in 9th place. Race 2 started in similar fashion to race 1 but this time Addison held on to the front pack for the first 5 laps. He moved passed Haworth into 8th on lap 7 and finshed the race stronlgy hunting down McCoy and Anderson in the fnal 3 laps. Addison placed 9th overall.
Addison says " It was great to be able to finish the first round inside the top 10. I am happy to come through the first round unscathed and points on the board. Now we can head into geelong with real confidence knowing we can run with the lead pack. I obviously need to work harder on my starts which I will be doing this week during practice. I have to thank the team at Axis for putting together a great bike for me in an ultra short time frame and AXO apparell for supporting the team."
Team Seven Axis Motorpsorts Crew Chief Andrew Hopson says " We can take a few positives away from the weekend - the bikes handled well, the boys came through the round with no injuries and points on the board. Sure Wade was a little off the pace for Round 1, but we've spoken and he knows what he has to do to be ready for Round 2. Mick acheived his goal of top 10 for Round 1 and is ready to move forward"
The team now has less than a week to get things fine tuned for round 2 in Geelong next Saturday. |
