This was his philosophy when 'Hoppo' - as he as become affectionately know as in the Industry that he adopted on his return from USA.

Axis Motor Sports was first a “pipe dream” thought up by a motorcycle enthusiast with a passion for motor sports and the love of motorcycle racing.

In 1994, Andrew (Hoppo) left Australia to try his luck in the industry in America. Luck found him when he met the owner of Pro Circuit, Mitch Payton. This was the beginning of a 6 year relationship with Pro Circuit, which involved R&D, engine modification, testing, dyno work and working with the major manufacturers developing their race engines as well as Pro Circuit’s.

At the end of the 2000 race season, Hoppo was hired by Cliff White at American Honda as an Engine Builder that later progressed into a Crew Chief. With these duties, also came the overseeing of the Factory Connection Race Team. This is where the alliance with Rick Zielfelder (owner of Factory Connection) came about and how Axis Motor Sports became the distributor for Factory Connection in Australia.

In the past 10 years Hoppo has worked with some of the greatest riders in the world as well as being part of 14 AMA championships. With the knowledge and experience gained it will be passed on through to Axis Motor Sports.

So, at the end of 2004, Hoppo moved back to Newcastle. With the support of family & friends - the “dream” was brought to life … and Axis Motor Sports began.
